Council Amalgamation
Effective from 15 March 2008, the Eidsvold Shire Council was amalgamated into the new Council known as the 'North Burnett Regional Council'. The new council consists of 6 previous shires, these being, Monto, Mount Perry, Eidsvold, Mundubbera, Gayndah and Biggenden.
Details on this website still pertain to the area previously encompassed by the Eidsvold Shire and we have continued to keep this website going until such time as a new website is designed which will encompass the 6 shires with such detail. Event and news details will continue to be added. As you can understand alot of the information on this website is still current (Community Organisations, Visitor Information etc).

Welcome to Eidsvold Shire
Eidsvold with a shire population of around 900 people is approx two hours West of Bundaberg and promotes “Country Living at its Best”. The friendly community boasts beautiful parks and gardens throughout the entirety of the town for visitors to stop and take in the charm, and often receives favourable comments towards the neatness and tidiness of the town. Abercorn is approx. 29km North of Eidsvold and is a small rural community within the Eidsvold Shire with facilities such as tennis courts and a well respected Primary School.
The Shire of Eidsvold is primarily based on beef and timber production however, there is a diversified range of other industries including small crops, paulownia forests and siltstone mining.
An interesting feature of the town is inside the Eidsvold Library and Tourist Information Centre with a life size tree and wildlife decorating the inside of the modern and spacious builidng. The friendly and helpful staff are always happy to assist anyone and keen to pass on their knowledge of the area.
